Why Periodontics?
At ten years old, an accident resulted in the loss of my two front teeth. What followed — root canal therapy, extractions, bone grafts, gingival grafts, a flipper I replaced more times than I can count, and ultimately implants, crowns, and veneers. The process stretched across more than two decades and continued through my periodontal residency. My path as a patient never really ended — and neither did the perspective it gave me.

I have always thought about dental appointments the same way: they mean progress. Each visit was one step closer to a comfortable, healthy, functional smile — and I genuinely looked forward to them because of it. I also know what setbacks feel like, and the quiet discouragement that comes with a smile you’re not yet proud of. That combination — the forward momentum and the frustration — has afforded me with a unique point of view. I understand what my patients are working toward, and I take the responsibility of getting them there seriously.
