Most parents have no idea this is happening 👇

Putting your child to bed with milk or juice might seem harmless… but it’s actually one of the leading causes of early childhood cavities.

Here’s why:

When your child falls asleep, saliva production decreases. Saliva is what naturally helps wash away sugars and protect the teeth. Without it, any milk or juice left on the teeth sits there overnight, feeding cavity-causing bacteria.

Over time, this can lead to what we call “baby bottle decay” and it often shows up quickly, especially on the front teeth.

And the tricky part?
It can happen even in kids who otherwise seem “healthy.”

What to do instead:

✔ Brush your child’s teeth before bed
✔ Avoid giving milk or juice after brushing
✔ If they need something for comfort → stick to water only
✔ Start dental visits by age 1 to catch anything early

These small habits make a huge difference in protecting your child’s smile, preventing pain, and avoiding more serious treatments down the line.
