What does it really take to become an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon?
Following dental school, oral and maxillofacial surgeons complete an additional 4 to 6 years of intensive, hospital-based surgical residency training. Their education extends far beyond the mouth, with rotations in anesthesiology, general surgery, trauma surgery, plastic surgery, internal medicine, intensive care, and head and neck surgery.
From managing complex facial injuries and medical emergencies to administering anesthesia and performing intricate jaw surgery, this extensive training provides a foundation for treating patients with a wide range of surgical needs.
At Spring Cypress Oral Surgery & Implant Center, Dr. Fuentes and Dr. Thompson are both board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Whether you're visiting us for wisdom teeth, dental implants, or a more complex procedure, you're in the hands of specialists whose training is dedicated to surgery.
