This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their bravery, dedication, and selflessness gave us the freedoms and opportunities we often take for granted every single day.

Today is not only about gatherings, barbecues, or the unofficial start of summer — it is about reflecting on the true cost of freedom and paying tribute to the heroes who never made it home. Behind every fallen service member is a story of sacrifice, a family forever changed, and a legacy that deserves to be remembered.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the military families who continue to carry the weight of that sacrifice with strength and pride. Your loved ones’ service and devotion to this nation will never be forgotten.

🇺🇸 Today Dr. Ding received the Army Commendation Medal for his outstanding service during the 2025 Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Mission in Mount Vernon, Alabama from June 1st – June 15th, 2025! 🎖️

During this special mission, Dr. Ding worked alongside over 70 Army Reserve Soldiers and healthcare professionals who traveled to the MOWA Choctaw community in southwest Alabama to provide free medical, dental, vision, and veterinary care to underserved families. The mission was hosted at the MOWA Choctaw Reservation and focused on helping patients who otherwise may not have had access to healthcare services.

The IRT mission is unique because it not only helps communities in need, but also allows military medical teams to strengthen their training and readiness through real-world patient care experiences. In just the first week alone, the mission provided hundreds of patient encounters and an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars in healthcare services to the community.

Dr. Ding was honored for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others both in and out of the dental office. We are incredibly proud to have someone who is so passionate about helping children, families, and communities everywhere.

At our office, we believe every dental visit should feel like an adventure—not a battle with the Dark Side. That’s why we’re so excited to highlight one of our favorite spaces: our Star Wars–themed dental room!

This room was designed to help kids feel comfortable, curious, and excited when they come in for their dental visit. Instead of focusing on nerves, our young Padawans can step into a galaxy far, far away and enjoy a room filled with Star Wars fun while we help keep their smiles healthy and strong.

In our Star Wars room, we remind kids that they have their own Jedi powers when it comes to fighting cavities:

✨ A toothbrush is like a lightsaber against plaque
🦷 Floss helps defeat the cavity troopers hiding between teeth
🌟 Fluoride and hydroxyapatite help strengthen enamel shields
🚀 Healthy snacks fuel Jedi smiles
🌌 Regular dental visits keep the whole galaxy cavity-free

A themed dental room can make a big difference for children. When kids feel relaxed and engaged, they are more likely to build positive memories at the dentist. Happy May the Fourth from our dental galaxy! Today is the perfect day to remind our little Padawans that becoming a smile Jedi takes practice, patience, and a great daily routine.

Just like Jedi need training to master the Force, kids need healthy habits to keep their teeth strong:

✨ Brush with the Force
Brush twice a day for two minutes. Fluoride toothpaste helps strengthen enamel and protect teeth from cavities. Hydroxyapatite toothpaste is another enamel-supporting option that can help remineralize teeth and keep smiles strong.

✨ Floss like a Jedi Master
Toothbrushes can’t always reach between teeth. Floss helps remove plaque and food from the tight spaces where cavity-causing bacteria like to hide.

✨ Beware of the Sugar Side
Sticky candies, gummies, juice, and frequent snacking can feed the bacteria that cause cavities. Choose water, cheese, yogurt, fruits, and tooth-friendly snacks when possible.

Our newest additions include The Thing from Fantastic Four, Disney Princess characters, and Fuggler sensory toy stuffed animals. These aren’t just regular stuffed animals — each one has its own unique texture, personality, and funny little set of teeth! 😁

The Fuggler toys are especially fun because they give kids something different to look at, touch, and talk about. Their silly teeth make them a perfect fit for a dental office, and they’re a great way to start conversations about brushing, taking care of our smiles, and how every set of teeth is unique.

Whether your child loves superheroes, princesses, or quirky sensory toys, we hope these new friends help make their visit more exciting and comfortable. Sometimes a familiar character, a soft toy, or something silly to laugh about can make all the difference during a dental appointment.

Did you know Dr. Ding visits local nursery schools for fun and educational Brush & Learn programs? 🦷✨

During these visits, Dr. Ding teaches children how to take care of their teeth in a fun, age-appropriate way. Kids learn about brushing, flossing, healthy snacks, what to expect at the dentist, and why taking care of their smiles is so important.

One of the kids’ favorite parts is when we use Baby Shark to show them how to brush their teeth! 🦈🪥 It helps make brushing fun, familiar, and easy to remember.

We love helping children build healthy habits early and making dental care feel positive, friendly, and fun! 😁
