Let's talk about Over-retained teeth!
This is also known as Shark Teeth 🦈 or a Double Row of Teeth. 🦷
This is most commonly seen in the bottom jaw, but still causes worry among parents. If you see this is happening in your child's mouth (usually age 5-6) remember these tidbits below to help ease your concern.
✨The baby teeth usually fall out on their own, and you can encourage your child to wiggle these teeth to help them along.
✨Once the baby teeth fall out, the tongue can help to push the adult teeth forward as it moves when your child speaks and swallows. This can take a few months, but it is pretty magical. 🪄If your child's jaw is crowded, the adult teeth may not be able to move all the way forward.
✨If the baby teeth are not loosening up and the adult teeth are continuing to grow in, see your pediatric dentist as the baby teeth may require removal.
✨And most importantly, get ready for a Tooth Fairy visit! 🧚
