A prime example of an office not realizing, due to a lack of info, that lubing is of the utmost importance for the life of the handpiece.
Much like the engine in your car....dental drills need oil (l**e) daily or weekly depending on the application, style and usage.
Call me for info so your handpieces last longer and run more efficiently. Don’t get stuck with down-time or faulty equipment.
Third photo with two units show what an old non l**ed assembly looks like compared to a new one. After a year of lubing your old one should look like the new one. L**e revives and prevents rust and debris build up.

I’ve only seen this 2 other times in 20 years of repairing. Too funny to me. It’s like the Gatling gun of water sprays. The more air i put to it, the faster it goes.

In the handpiece (dental drill) world of dentistry...cleanliness is next to godliness.
They go in your mouth and drill holes, cut fissures, draw pulp in root canals and can make gaping holes for implants.
So, yeah cleanliness, inside and out.
Below...ugh, wtf and whoa, what did they l**e this with?

Midwest RDH in horrible shape. End plates worn, rotor housing scored. Bearings black with sludge. Debris in the gearing....

Midwest RDH in horrible shape. End plates worn, rotor housing scored. Bearings black with sludge. Debris in the gearing. One of the foulest smelling pos i have seen in a long time. Vanes worn so thin they are about to snap in two.
Life expectancy...nil. Retiring. Un-economical to repair.
