This shift can also cause the opposing tooth to overgrow due to lack of contact, leading to uneven bite pressure and increasing strain during chewing, which may gradually affect comfort and dental function.
Over time, missing teeth can also lead to gradual jawbone loss because the root no longer stimulates the bone. This may change facial structure. Dentists recommend implants or bridges to maintain bone health and stability.
