Las cordales, también llamadas muelas del juicio, suelen salir entre los 17 y 25 años. Cuando no tienen espacio suficiente para erupcionar, pueden generar dolor, inflamación o apiñamiento dental.

La extracción de cordales es un procedimiento común que se realiza bajo anestesia local. El dentista o cirujano oral retira la pieza dental y, en algunos casos, sutura la encía para facilitar la cicatrización.
