🦷 When Other Offices Say "This Case Is Too Complex," Families Call Dr. Ryan Redford

Not every bite problem is straightforward. Severe overbites. Underbites. Crossbites. Narrow jaws. Cases that require precise timing, specialized appliances, and an orthodontist who truly understands how a child's face and jaw develop.

That's why dentists, pediatricians, and other orthodontists across the Inland Empire refer their most challenging cases to Dr. Ryan Redford at Burke & Redford Orthodontists.

What sets Dr. Redford apart?

Dr. Redford is a board-certified orthodontist who has dedicated his career exclusively to treating children and teenagers. He doesn't just straighten teeth. He evaluates jaw growth, identifies underlying bite issues, and creates treatment plans designed around your child's unique development. His expertise with interceptive orthodontics and growth-guided appliances allows him to achieve results that simply aren't possible once a child stops growing.

Parents trust him because he takes time to explain exactly what's happening, why treatment is recommended, and what to expect at every stage. No surprises. No rushing. Just honest, expert care focused on your child's long-term outcome.

If your child has a complex bite issue, or if you've been told to "wait and see" but something still feels off, a consultation with Dr. Redford could change everything.

Braces Off Day is the Best Day. Congratulations, Madeline! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜Š

🦷 What is a Pediatric Orthodontist and Why Does It Matter?

All orthodontists can straighten teeth. But not all specialize in the unique needs of growing children.

A pediatric orthodontist focuses exclusively on children and teenagers, understanding how jaws develop, when to intervene, and how to guide growth to prevent bigger problems later.

Why does this matter?

Children are not small adults. Their teeth, jaws, and facial structures are still developing, creating opportunities that don't exist in adult treatment.

A pediatric orthodontist recognizes issues the human eye cannot see and times treatment to work with your child's natural growth.

The American Dental Association recommends orthodontic screening by age 7 to evaluate jaw development and bite problems before they become more serious.

At Burke & Redford Orthodontists, Dr. Ryan Redford focuses exclusively on children and teenagers, providing early evaluations and a kid-friendly environment at our Temecula and Lake Elsinore offices.

Free consultations and 0% interest payment plans available, if qualified.

🦷 Not Every Bite Problem Can Be Fixed with Braces Alone

Crossbites. Underbites. Severe overbites. Narrow jaws. Crowding before all the permanent teeth have even come in.

These are the cases that require more than just brackets and wires. They require the right appliance, the right timing, and an orthodontist who truly understands how a child's jaw grows and develops.

At Burke & Redford Orthodontists, Dr. Ryan Redford is known throughout the Inland Empire for correcting complex bite issues that other offices shy away from. Using specialized appliances like palatal expanders, Herbst appliances, Carriere Distalizers, and space maintainers, he guides jaw growth and creates the foundation for a healthy bite before problems become harder (and more expensive) to fix.

Why does early intervention matter?

Because your child's jaw is still developing, we can often achieve results in younger patients that simply aren't possible in teens and adults. The right appliance at the right time can mean shorter treatment, fewer extractions, and a better outcome for your child's smile and overall oral health.

What Parents Say:

Families across Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, and Menifee trust Dr. Redford because he takes time to explain exactly why an appliance is recommended and how it will benefit their child long-term. No surprises. No upselling. Just honest guidance based on what your child actually needs.

If your child has a bite issue and you've been told to "wait and see," a second opinion could make all the difference. We offer free consultations at both of our offices and 0% interest payment plans, for those who qualify, to make treatment accessible for every family.

✨Your Smile Looks Beautiful Mia, Congratulations!!!✨

🦷 What Is a Palatal Expander and Why Might Your Child Need One?

If your child's orthodontist recommends a palatal expander, it can sound intimidating. But this simple appliance is one of the most effective tools we have for guiding jaw growth and creating space for permanent teeth before problems become harder to fix.

A palatal expander gently widens the upper jaw over time, helping to correct crossbites, crowding, and breathing issues while your child is still growing. The key is timing. Because children's jaws are still developing, we can achieve results that simply aren't possible once growth is complete.

What Parents Are Saying About Palatal Expanders at Burke & Redford Orthodontists:

Parents whose children have worn palatal expanders at Burke & Redford Orthodontists consistently praise how clearly Dr. Redford and Dr. Burke explain the process and put both parent and child at ease. One parent shared that Dr. Burke always had their son's best interest throughout every phase of preparing for treatment, and that the family would not consider going to anyone else for their children's orthodontic care. Another parent noted that Dr. Redford was exceptional at communicating what to expect at each stage, keeping the family informed and confident as their child's jaw widened and new space was created.

Families also appreciate that both doctors take time during the free consultation to show parents exactly why an expander is recommended and how it will benefit their child's long-term bite and smile.

Early intervention now can mean shorter treatment, fewer extractions, and better results later. Burke & Redford Orthodontists has specialized exclusively in children and teens since 1991. Free consultations and 0% interest payment plans available for those who qualify at our Temecula and Lake Elsinore offices.

Braces Off, Smile On!! Congrats Luca!!πŸŽ‰

🦷 Metal Braces: Still the Gold Standard for Straightening Smiles
Think metal braces are outdated? Think again.

Modern self-ligating metal braces are smaller, more comfortable, and work faster than the braces you remember. They remain the most effective treatment for complex orthodontic cases including severe crowding, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. And unlike aligners, they work 24/7 with zero compliance needed from your child.

What Parents Are Saying About Metal Braces at Burke & Redford Orthodontists:

One parent shared that both of their sons completed treatment at the practice, one with traditional metal braces and the other with Invisalign, and that the entire staff provided excellent care and expertise at every single appointment. Another family described how Dr. Redford and Dr. Burke treated their daughter's complex orthodontic issues with self-ligating metal braces, delivering a final result the family never thought possible.

Parents also appreciate that Dr. Redford takes time during the free consultation to explain how metal braces compare to ceramic braces and Invisalign, providing an honest recommendation based on your child's specific needs rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.

Why families choose metal braces:

βœ… Handles all cases, including severe bite problems
βœ… Most durable and affordable option
βœ… Fewer adjustments with self-ligating technology
βœ… Works around the clock with no compliance required

Burke & Redford Orthodontists has been the trusted choice for Riverside County families since 1991. Free consultations and 0% interest payment plans available at our Temecula and Lake Elsinore offices.

🦷 When Should YOUR Child First See an Orthodontist?

If you think braces are just for teenagers, you might be surprised. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive an orthodontic screening no later than age 7.

Why so early?

Because your child's jaw is still growing, we can often achieve results that won't be possible once the face and jaw have finished developing. Early intervention can mean shorter treatment, less extensive work, and lower costs down the road.

What Parents Are Saying About Kids' Braces at Burke & Redford Orthodontists:

Parents throughout the Temecula Valley trust Burke & Redford Orthodontists when their child needs braces for the first time. One parent shared that Dr. Burke has always had their son's best interest throughout the entire process, and that the family would not consider going to any other orthodontist in the valley. Another parent described the results as absolutely fantastic, saying Dr. Redford and his team made the entire experience positive from start to finish.

Most kids won't need treatment after their first visit. But that early evaluation allows Dr. Redford to monitor growth and development so treatment, if needed, can start at the optimum time.

🦷 Does Your Child Have an Overbite?

Here's What Parents Need to Know
Almost 70% of children have some type of overbite. While some mild cases improve as your child grows, others need early intervention to prevent bigger problems down the road.

Because your child's jaw is still developing, we can often achieve results in younger patients that aren't possible in older teens and adults. That means less invasive treatment and lower costs when you catch it early.

Left untreated, an overbite can lead to abnormal wear on tooth enamel, difficulty chewing, speech problems, and self-consciousness about appearance.

πŸ”Ή What Parents Are Saying:

Parents whose children required overbite correction praise Dr. Redford and Dr. Burke for thoroughly diagnosing the issue and clearly explaining the treatment plan from the start. Reviewers consistently highlight how both doctors keep families informed about progress at every visit, which helps parents and children feel confident throughout the process.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children see an orthodontist by age 7. If you've noticed your child's top teeth sticking out or overlapping significantly, now is the time to get answers.

Burke & Redford Orthodontists has specialized exclusively in children and teens since 1991. Free consultations and 0% interest payment plans available at our Temecula and Lake Elsinore offices.
