Let's talk ⚾️⚽️SPORTS DRINKS🥎🎾
Do your kiddos sound like this?! Can I have Gatorade, Prime... you name it?!
Most Sports Drinks are full of electrolytes, vitamins and well....... SUGAR! These drinks were originally made for high endurance athletes during and after their physical workouts and sporting events. But now, these drinks are given all the hype and are the "cool thing" to drink,
So, are these drinks good or bad for your kiddo?
BIG PICTURE:
-Drink Water! You can never go wrong with WATER! 💦💦
-On HOT SUMMER DAYS when your kiddo will be outside a lot and super active, sports drinks can be a helpful to stay hydrated! BUT drink it in one sitting rather than sip on it for hours.
-Water is the BEST choice for hydration.
-You can get TOO MANY electrolytes and vitamins from these drinks if consumed in excess that can elevate your risk for systemic issues like KIDNEY STONES!
-The SUGAR and ACIDITY in sports drinks can elevate your risk for CAVITIES!
-You can get sports drinks without sugar, like Gatorade Zero. That is a much better option but still is high in electrolytes that can increase the acidity of the beverage.
BEST CHOICE:
-Water
-Sugar Free Sports Drinks IF drank at one time!
Stay HYDRATED and have an AMAZING summer! 💦💦
