For years, Dr. Alicea has been educating patients about mercury-containing dental fillings and the importance of mercury-free alternatives.

Now, the conversation is making national headlines. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently encouraged states to phase out the use of mercury-containing dental amalgam in Medicaid programs, reflecting a growing shift toward mercury-free dentistry.

At Your Desired Smile, Dr. Alicea offers SMART Amalgam Removal - a specialized protocol that uses advanced safety measures, including protective barriers, high-volume suction, air filtration, and other precautions designed to minimize mercury exposure for both patients and the dental team during the removal process.

If you've been thinking about replacing your silver fillings, we're here to help you explore your options.

Jordan, our patient and a true warrior, overcame her illness and embraced one of life’s greatest joys, becoming a mother. 💕 It was such a privilege to welcome her back to our office, this time with her beautiful baby, Kreed, by her side at her dental appointment.

Stories like Jordan’s remind us that resilience, hope, and new beginnings are worth celebrating. We’re so grateful to be a small part of her journey. 🦷❤️👶✨
