Dr. Garcia received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University in 1962. He completed his military service in the United States Air force and served as Chief of Prosthetics at Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio. ers in Tampa, Florida, where he educates dentists from throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia. He is a senior lecturer for the United States Dental Institute and lectures to dentists worldwide. At the University of South Florida College of Medicine, he served as dental consultant for temporomandibular joint imaging in the department of radiology working with arthrography, tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. He trained under Dr. William Farrar and Dr. Bernard Jankelson, and is recognized as a pioneer in radio- frequency lesioning of the posterior disk ligaments, neuromuscular dentistry, and orthopedic/orthodontic and prosthetic finalization of temporomandibular joint cases. Dr. Garcia was a charter member of the American Association for Functional Orthodontics, and the 2001 recipient of the AAFO's Clinician of the Year Award. He holds membership in the Normandie Study Group for Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, and is a Fellow of the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics, the Academy of Dentistry International and the International Association for Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, and is a Credentialed Pain Practitioner and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management.
