🦷 Regular Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning, What’s the Difference?

A regular cleaning is for healthy gums. It removes plaque and tartar above the gumline and is meant for routine maintenance.

A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) is needed when there is active infection and bone loss. It cleans below the gumline, removes bacteria causing the infection, and helps stop further damage to the bone that supports your teeth.
