To our Smart Orthodontic Families:
As we prepare to open this week, we hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. The safety and health of our team, patients and families has always been and will continue to be our #1 priority. As the past few months have been extraordinarily challenging for our community, we are now looking forward to embarking on our “new normal”. Throughout this pandemic, we have all had to alter many of our daily habits and routines. However, please remember that although much has changed, our commitment to your safety at The Smart Orthodontic Group has not.
Infection control has always been of critical importance in our practice. In fact, you may have witnessed this during your visits to our office. Our infection control protocols are in place to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable when you receive care. We follow very specific infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA). We continually follow the activities of these agencies in order to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
Please review carefully our procedures listed below prior to your next appointment:
Our office will communicate with you prior to your appointment to ask some screening questions. These questions will be repeated in the office at your appointment.
We also ask that you please come to your appointment wearing a mask. Once you arrive, please call or text our office and then wait in your car until our team member is ready to seat you.
We request that you use the hand sanitizer located near the clinic entrance when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer magazines, children’s toys, etc. in our waiting room, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
Appointments will be managed in order to maintain social distancing between patients, which ultimately may result in fewer scheduling options for your next appointment.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients in order to reduce waiting times for you.
We can no longer have a brushing station. Therefore, please brush your teeth before coming to your appointment.
We will no longer be able to accommodate walk in patients, please call ahead before coming into the office.
Unfortunately, we can only allow patients in the clinic area, and to comply with social distancing, there is limited seating in the reception area. This may require some to wait in their car until the appointment is complete.
Before your appointment can begin, we will go through the screening questions again, your temperature will be taken, and you will be asked to rinse your mouth with a peroxide-based mouthwash.
We look forward to seeing you again and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office.
Thank you for your continued trust!
