Another denture wearer cured! This All on X / Teeth in a Day patient had an upper denture for many years and was very unhappy with it. Due to severe bone resorption from wearing the denture and having missing teeth for so long, Dr. Nguyen did zygomatic and pterygoid implants to allow a same-day immediate temporary bridge to be placed in the upper. Dentures vs All on X / Teeth in a Day.

Dentures: covers your entire palate, must be removed, can illicit a gag reflex and change your taste, makes your upper jaw bone shrink, upper dentures tend to stay in better than lower dentures because of the full palatal coverage, cannot bite into harder foods like apples, might need denture glue as time goes on

All on X / Teeth in a Day: Fixed so you don’t have to remove them but the doctor can remove them when necessary, much thinner with no full palatal coverage, can function much more normally in terms of speech and eating, no denture glue needed

This patient you see had an upper denture for years and did not tolerate it. She had been told by other offices that she could not have implants and then saw Dr. Nguyen for a second opinion. With zygomatic and pterygoid implants, we were able to get the patient into the same-day temporary bridges you see here. No more dentures!
