Pack the basics. Toothbrush, floss, and if you’ve had sensitivity before, bring that toothpaste. If you wear aligners or a retainer, don’t forget the case. It sounds simple, but it can save you a lot of stress.

Standing in the store aisle staring at all the mouthwash options… it’s a lot.

Here’s the honest answer. Mouthwash isn’t a must, but it can be a helpful add-on when you use it the right way. It won’t replace brushing and flossing, but it can freshen breath, reduce bacteria, and give your gums a little extra support.

If you deal with bleeding gums, frequent bad breath, or you’re more prone to cavities, the right rinse can actually make a difference. Some even have fluoride to help strengthen enamel.

We usually guide patients based on what they need. Not every bottle is right for every mouth.

Your Mouth Can Say More About Your Health Than You Think
Some health issues don’t start where you expect.

And sometimes, your mouth gives early clues before anything else feels wrong.

In honor of World Ovarian Cancer Day, we want to talk about something not enough people hear:
There may be a connection between oral health and overall systemic health, including conditions like Ovarian Cancer.

Here’s what matters for you:
Chronic inflammation in the body has been linked to many diseases. Gum disease is a form of chronic inflammation.

Some research suggests that bacteria from the mouth can travel through the bloodstream and may play a role in broader health conditions.

One study published in the journal *Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention* found an association between periodontal disease and an increased risk of certain cancers, including ovarian cancer.

Now, this does NOT mean gum disease causes ovarian cancer.
