He always had a passion for science and working with his hands, but as a young man, he never really thought about becoming a dentist. After serving a two year, volunteer mission for his church, he decided to couple that passion for science and hands-on work with serving other people. During undergraduate engineering studies, he realized he wouldn’t find fulfillment in engineering, and made the dec
ision to go to dental school instead. While in dental school, soon-to-be-Dr. Best took a mission trip to Brazil. Upon returning home, he and his wife made plans for another four to five years of study (after finishing his dental degree). Upon finally completing his extensive training, the Bests had a young, growing family, which made them think long and hard about where they wanted to settle down. They wanted to raise their children in a community that would offer great schools, plenty of outdoor recreation, good people, and room to grow. A few friends introduced them to the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina, and once they found Summerfield they knew they were home. Dr. Best is grateful for the opportunity to bring world-class oral and maxillofacial surgery services to the place he now calls home, and proudly serves the greater Piedmont Triad Area through his practice at Northwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
