Smiling isn't just what happens when you feel good — it's part of what keeps your mouth healthy. 😊

The connection runs both ways. A healthy smile makes you happier, and being happier actually protects your teeth:

✅ Lower stress means less teeth grinding and jaw clenching, which wear down enamel and can lead to painful TMJ problems
✅ Reduced stress improves saliva production, which neutralizes acids and helps prevent decay
✅ A stronger immune system fights off the bacteria behind gum disease and cavities

Small daily habits go a long way. Brush twice a day for two minutes, floss in the evening, and keep up with your twice-yearly cleanings.

We get this question a lot and the honest answer is that both work. The ADA accepts either one. What matters is cleaning between your teeth once a day.

Each has its strengths. Water flossers are gentle and great around braces, implants, and bridges, and they help if bleeding gums or grip issues make regular floss difficult. String floss is inexpensive, travel-friendly, and hard to beat in tight spaces.

The best tool is the one you'll actually use.
