Every Day we can celebrate all women.

On this International Women's Day, we celebrate the women in dentistry who have advanced the profession and continue to inspire others with their boldness.

In 2024, women represented nearly 40% of practicing dentists in the US, and more than 55% of US dental school graduates were women. Empowered women, empower women!

Over my many years as a dentist, I saw firsthand the positive impact of Fluoridated community water. It disturbs me that many people are still unaware of the positive effects of Fluoridated water.

ADA President Dr. Brett Kessler emphasized the importance of evidence-based policy, warning that removing fluoride harms public health—especially vulnerable children—and increases long-term costs. “Blindly calling for a ban on fluoridated water hurts people and will ultimately harm our economy,” he said.

Dr. Kessler also noted that the ADA looks forward to working with the EPA on a comprehensive study of fluoride and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to research that improves oral health nationwide.

While a recent White House statement cited studies linking high fluoride levels to lower IQ, those findings don’t apply to U.S. fluoridation levels. The ADA continues to support research showing no harm at the levels used in America's public drinking water systems.
