Woeltje DDS MAGD

Dr. Woeltje received his Bachelor of Arts from Augustana College with majors in chemistry, biology, and pre-dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Northwestern University. He taught in the Crown and Bridge department at Northwestern University immediately after dental school and continued on a part time basis in his early years while practicing in Streato

r. The doctor places a very high value on continuing education for himself and his staff. Continuing education involves courses on advanced dentistry that are taken after graduation and while in practice. The MAGD stands for Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. The designation requires first receiving your Fellowship in the academy and all of its requirements and then going on to receive over 1,500 more hours of education in all the different fields of dentistry. Less then 100 dentists in the nation receives this honor. Charles Goodman DDS MS

Dr. Goodman has been performing periodontal treatment at our office since 1986. He attended the University of Maryland for both his undergraduate and dental training. He completed his specialty work at the University of Iowa receiving a certificate of specialty in Periodontics and a Masters in Physiology. He served as director of graduate periodontal training at Northwestern University for seven years; in addition he served as Associate Professor in both the graduate and undergraduate clinics at the University. Talk about a full-circle moment!
As President of the local school board, there are two events that have always meant the most to Dr. Woeltje: the Honors Banquet, where more than $350,000 in local scholarships are awarded to deserving students each year, and graduation day—watching students celebrate the accomplishments that mark the beginning of their next chapter.

Eight years ago, one of those graduates was Dr. Claire Chalkey.
Dr. Woeltje had the privilege of presenting her high school diploma.

Little did he know that years later, he would have the opportunity to welcome her back—not as a student, but as our new Associate Dentist!!

It's incredibly rewarding to see hard work, dedication, and a passion for helping others come full circle. We are excited to have Dr. Chalkey join our team and look forward to serving our patients together for many years to come.

When he’s not helping patients in the office, Dr. Woeltje enjoys giving back through one of his greatest passions — coaching.

This past weekend, he drove over 300 miles to support and coach Kolby, the son of his longtime fishing guide, at one of his track meets. Moments like these reflect the dedication, mentorship, and heart he brings not only to dentistry, but to the people around him every day.

We’re proud to see Dr. Woeltje making an impact both inside and outside the office. 👏

Why does Dr. Woeltje ask me how I sleep?

Well, dentists have a significant correlation with sleep apnea. They can identify signs of the disorder, like tooth grinding, dry mouth, and tongue abnormalities, and manage it through custom-made oral appliances that reposition the jaw to keep the airway open during sleep. He may also ask about symptoms like snoring, daytime sleepiness, or jaw discomfort, prompting further investigation for sleep apnea.

-->Regular Snorers have a 33% increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

-->Patients with OSA are 4 times more likely to have a heart attack.

-->40% – 80% of stroke victims also suffer from OSA.

-->People with Sleep Apnea are 3 times more likely to be involved with a motor vehicle accident.

Sometimes it's the "little things" that mean the most!

Received a kind 'Thank You' card from a patient and his wife today! They traveled 315.2 miles- nearly 5 hours- to be treated for their sleep apnea!!
