Green and white tea is good for oral health. Because green and white tea controls bacteria and lowers the acidity of saliva and dental plaque, it may be useful in preventing cavities. Tea also has a lot of antioxidants, which help fight bacteria and reduces inflammation in your gums.

What is your favorite kind of tea?

Keeping your teeth healthy is important during the Flu and Cold season. When you're sick it is important to keep your mouth from getting dry. When you have dry mouth you have a greater risk of getting cavities.

Medications you take when you have the flu or a cold can cause your mouth to dry out such as antihistamines, decongestants or pain relievers. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids like water and suck on sugarless cough drops or throat lozenges to keep your saliva flowing.

This procedure will go deep into the gum line and clean hard to reach spots at the base line of the tooth, cleaning the roots and pockets of the tooth. Tartar can build up around the tooth and roots and cause serious bacterial infections. Talk to your dentist and see if this procedure is right for you. Are you brushing your teeth correctly? Here are some tips to help make sure you’re brushing properly:

1- Angle your toothbrush 45 degrees against the gumline and sweep or roll the brush away from the gumline.
2- Use gentle, short, circular motions.
3- Make sure to brush the inside and chewing surfaces of the teeth.
4- Don’t forget to brush your tongue. This removes bacteria, food debris, dead cells, and plaque that can build up in your mouth.
