We enjoyed another year at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting Dental Conference! Survived a quick snow storm, had some great meals together, found a few educational pearls to make our practice better, and made sure to smile along the way. It’s always a nice weekend as a team to go and educate ourselves for the betterment of our patients. Until next year, Chicago!

This time last week Dr. Michael and our hygiene team (Jo, Melissa and Amanda) were in Chicago at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. While here we attended lots of amazing Continuing Education courses and visited with some of our dental supply reps. Looking forward to the meeting in 2024!

Our team of talented Dental Hygienists (Left - Amanda, Center - Melissa, Right - Jo) want to remind you that you don't have to eat all the Halloween candy (all at once), and if you do indulge in some sweet treats, brushing and flossing can help keep decay at bay. Now, lets bring on the Holiday Season!

If you've spent any time at our dental office, you've probably come in contact with Jo, one of our beloved dental hygienists. Did you know Jo got her start at our office as a dental assistant to the original Dr. Hom back in the day? As National Dental Hygiene Month comes to a close, we wanted to share an article that industry publication RDH magazine shared of Jo highlighting her career as a dental hygienist. Congratulations to Jo on this awesome feature!

We are excited to announce that we have reopened and are ready to see our patients once again! Thank you all for your patience as we find ourselves in a new normal.

We have always been proud to serve our communities. As difficult as the past couple months have been to not provide the normal, routine care for you, we return more committed than ever to providing an excellent service for you.

I want to thank our team for supporting the changes we have had to make to ensure as safe an environment as we can offer to our patients and each other. We can assure you that we have always been mindful of the safety of our patients and team, and will continue to be taking all necessary steps to provide a dental setting that gives you comfort upon return.

Thank you CREATE Portage County for providing us with face shields to protect our team. To our patients, we have missed you all and look forward to seeing you soon!

CREATE Portage County is doing amazing work with creating Personal Protective Equipment with their 3D printers. We were lucky enough to receive masks for our staff when we’re allowed to conduct business again. Dr. Hom may or may not shave his quarantine-stache by then. Only time will tell 😬. Thank you Create! To our patients and our central Wisconsin community at large:

Hom Family Dentistry will begin limited business hours from March 18, 2020 until Monday, April 24, 2020.
Hom Family Dentistry has been listening and following the most up-to-date information regarding the growing concerns about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the recommendations from our governing bodies. As always, we continue to take great pride in providing a safe environment for our team and our patients.
The American Dental Association (ADA) and Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) have strongly recommended that to mitigate the spread of the novel-Coronavirus-19, any non-urgent and non essential dental procedures be postponed for the next few weeks.
Concentrating on emergency dental care allows care for our emergency patients and alleviates the burdening hospital emergency departments with dental emergencies that can be better utilized with growing medical emergencies.
We have been and will continue to be contacting patients that have non-emergent appointments for reappointment. We appreciate all our communities’ understandings during this challenging time and hope for a “return to normal” soon. We will continue to monitor the recommendations of the ADA and WDA and will make adjustments as needed. Thank you for your continued support.
