Hard foods can loosen brackets or bend wires and potentially delay your treatment. Cut raw carrots into small pieces and chew them carefully with your back teeth.

Eating after a braces adjustment can be a struggle! 😩

The tenderness happens because the teeth and surrounding tissues are responding to renewed orthodontic pressure. It is usually temporary and begins improving within a few days.

Stick with softer foods, take small bites, and avoid anything very hard or chewy until you feel more comfortable.

If the pain is severe, continues getting worse, or comes with swelling or a broken appliance, contact your orthodontist.
