As the COVID situation has unfolded, all of us have been faced with questions about how to lead our daily lives while being told, we must stay at home. We’ve all felt how uncomfortable and frustrating the uncertainty and restrictions can be. My staff and I have seen that those feelings are magnified when your health, or that of a family member, is the cause of that uncertainty.
We’re now getting numerous questions from our dental patients about handling their dental appointments, and needs, since the stay-at-home measures went into place.
As of this writing, we hope to resume providing elective care on May 20, 2020.
When you call for your appointment, we will ask a few questions to make sure that it is safe to care for you. Our adherence to the latest CDC and ADA Guidelines means that we need slightly more time to prepare the dental operatory for each patient visit.
In addition, to minimize exposure, when you arrive at our office we will request that you stay in your car-call us so we know that you’ve arrived, and we will text or call you when it is appropriate to enter the office. If you are being dropped off, please wait in the lobby area outside the office itself, and call us so we know you’ve arrived.
As you come into the office, please keep your mask on and we’ll bring you directly to the dental operatory.
Please limit extra companions on your trip to the office to only essential people in order to reduce the number of people in the reception area.
Although this may seem strange, it is being done out of an abundance of concern for your health, as well as that of the other patients being seen in the office, the doctor and the staff, and any public with whom you might come in contact.
And as important, know that Janet, Sylvia, Mangala and myself are committed to the same level of care and attention to detail that have always been there, and we look forward to seeing you all!
