💙 National Health Center Week | Celebrating Our History 💚
Every great story starts with a small beginning.
In October 1999, Central Counties Health Centers, Inc. opened its doors with one simple mission: to make quality health care accessible to everyone. Our first "clinic" operated out of the basement of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Springfield, where a dedicated team began serving patients with compassion and hope.
Soon after, we moved to 11th and Monroe, where one physician, one nurse, and a small support staff worked tirelessly to care for our growing community.
As the need for affordable, high-quality health care continued to grow, so did we. In 2004, CCHC moved to our current home on East Cook Street, creating opportunities to expand our services and reach even more patients.
Today, we're proud to provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and prenatal care, operate a Taylorville health center, and offer a walk-in dental clinic—all while staying true to the mission that started more than 25 years ago.
What began in a church basement has grown into a trusted community health center serving thousands of patients each year.
Thank you to our patients, staff, community partners, and supporters who have been part of this incredible journey. Here's to honoring our past while continuing to build a healthier future for the communities we serve.
❤️ From humble beginnings to healthier communities—thank you for being part of our story.
