When it comes to breast health, knowing your personal risk factors matters. Your age, family history, personal health history and other factors can help determine when and how often you should be screened.

Not sure what’s recommended for you? Talk with your primary care provider. They can help you understand your individual risk and what screenings may be appropriate.

🍂 CCHC Holiday Closure Reminder 🍂

Central Counties Health Centers will be CLOSED Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

💊 Need a medication refill? Please don’t wait until the last minute! If you may need a refill before the holiday, contact your provider now so your request can be taken care of before our offices close.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.

Today is a reminder for women of every age to make their health a priority — because taking care of yourself matters!

As the weather cools down, fall is a great time to make sure you and your family are ready for the months ahead. Here are a few things to add to your Fall Health Checklist:

🩺 Schedule your annual checkup if you’re due.
💉 Stay up to date on recommended vaccines, including your annual flu shot. Ask your healthcare provider which vaccines are right for you.
💊 Check your medications and refills so you don’t run out when you need them.
❤️ Keep chronic conditions in check — especially diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma.
🦷 Don’t forget your dental care! If it’s been a while since your last visit, fall is a great time to get back on track.
🧠 Check in on your mental health. Shorter days and busy schedules can affect how we feel, too.
🥕 Keep moving and eating well. Cooler weather doesn’t mean healthy habits have to hibernate!
🤧 Prepare for cold and flu season with good handwashing, plenty of rest and healthy everyday habits.
