Our Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is used to identify complex root canal anatomy allowing us to plan treatment with greater precision!

For example - a hidden infection may not appear on a standard 2-D x-ray, but a CBCT scan can reveal that infection at the tip of the root, enabling earlier intervention and potentially saving the tooth!

Calcified canals like these tend to play hard to get.

This pre-op X-ray showed significant calcification and very little visible canal space - the kind of anatomy that makes you pause, adjust the microscope, and take a slow breath.

With small and careful access, magnification, and controlled ultrasonics, the hidden canal pathways were gradually uncovered and negotiated. Patency was established, working lengths confirmed, and the canals were shaped, thoroughly disinfected, and three-dimensionally obturated. Check out the after!

MYTH🦷

While a throbbing toothache typically is a telltale sign of a need for root canal treatment, there are times a tooth can require a root canal when there is NO pain present.
Endodontists are specially trained to test a tooth to see if the pulp has been infected or damaged.
With our advanced equipment (and a keen eye!), we are like fortune tellers. If this is the case, a root canal would be necessary to save the tooth!

And remember, when it comes to teeth: There is no pain that is normal - so be sure to give us a call if you are experiencing any kind of toothache, because the problem will grow if ignored!
