Dental myth that needs to go ❌
If your gums bleed when you brush…
you should NOT stop brushing.
Bleeding gums are a sign of inflammation — not a reason to avoid cleaning.
That’s why modern dentistry uses Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) —
a gentle, high-tech way to remove plaque without scraping, making cleanings more comfortable for sensitive gums.
Oak Hills Dentistry is one of the few offices in the area offering GBT — and patients feel the difference immediately.
Healthy gums don’t bleed.
And cleanings shouldn’t hurt.

Fun fact 🦷
More bacteria live in dental plaque than people live on Earth.
That sticky film on your teeth (called biofilm) isn’t just “food buildup” — it’s an organized layer of bacteria that regular brushing doesn’t always remove.
That’s why modern dentistry uses Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) — a gentle, high-tech system that targets plaque precisely without scraping.
Oak Hills Dentistry is one of the few offices in the area offering it.
Cleaner teeth.
MORE comfort.
Way better experience.

Most people have no idea this even exists… but it’s a total game-changer for cleanings.

That bright purple color isn’t whitening — it’s a special disclosing agent we use during Guided Biofilm Therapy to reveal plaque you can’t see on your own.
It highlights every area that needs attention so we can clean more gently, more precisely, and with zero guesswork.
No scraping. No pain. Just a healthier, fresher smile — backed by real science.
