Here’s how to put wax on a bracket in 3 easy steps:

1️⃣ Wash your hands.
2️⃣ Pinch off a small piece of wax and roll it into a ball.
3️⃣ Gently press it over the bracket or wire that’s bothering you until it’s smooth and secure.

✨ Pro tip: Dry the area with a tissue first — the wax sticks better!

Wax creates a soft barrier between your braces and cheeks so you can stay comfortable while your smile transforms.

According to the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), children should have their first orthodontic check-up by age 7 and Dr. Sheridan is here to explain why! 👨⚕️

At this age, kids usually have a mix of baby teeth and permanent teeth, which makes it the perfect time to spot:
✔️ Crowding or spacing issues
✔️ Bite problems (overbite, underbite, crossbite)
✔️ Jaw growth concerns
✔️ Habits like thumb sucking that can affect development
