How much radiation do you get from dental x-rays? It's very low.

You'll usually get 4 bitewing x-rays at your hygiene visits.

4 bitewing x-rays = 0.005 mSv (how radiation dosage is measured).

To put it into perspective:

If you took a 7-hour plane ride ✈️, you're exposed to a dose of 0.02 mSv (or 16 small dental x-rays). 👀

Dental x-rays are very safe and help us detect cavities we can't see with the naked eye.

Have any questions about x-rays? Ask away! We're more than happy to answer them.

Don't forget to set up your biannual cleaning appointments.
