We get this question all the time from parents:

“Are we about to walk out with braces today?” 😅

The answer is — not always.

Many kids who come in for their first orthodontic visit aren’t ready for treatment yet. That’s completely normal! Growth and development happen at different times for every child.

That’s why we offer our complimentary observation program. If it’s not time for braces, we simply keep an eye on things as your child grows. We do things like monitor how teeth are coming in, watch jaw development, and keep you updated along the way - all while also building that relationship so that when it is time, your child feels ready and comfortable to take that step with us!

Just like your teeth, your retainer needs regular cleaning to stay fresh and clear. A quick spring cleaning can help remove buildup and keep it looking (and smelling) better.

Here’s an easy way to deep clean your retainer at home:
🫧 Mix equal parts baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
Place your retainer in the mixture and let it soak for about 15 minutes, making sure it is fully covered.

For everyday care:
• Clean your retainer daily with warm water and mild soap
• Avoid using toothpaste — it can scratch the material and make retainers look cloudy over time
• Deep clean occasionally as needed

And the most important rule of all:
Make sure you’re wearing your retainers at least 12 hours every night to keep that smile right where it belongs!

This is why we love our Observation program! ↓

A free consultation (with free xray) showed us a wayward canine. Having part of the baby tooth still there was causing the adult canine to lose eruption momentum and was starting to shift away from it's designated place in the mouth.

Our recommendation: have the baby tooth removed, then come back to us in 6 months for a follow up appointment.

Fast forward 6 months after the baby tooth was removed. We decided to take a CBCT (3D xray) to give us a better view of where the canine was located, and look at this progress!

We are so happy to offer this program to families with little ones. A free consultation led to an avoided complication and an easier treatment process. 💙

Let’s keep it real - anytime we’re moving teeth, there can be some level of discomfort. Invisalign works by gently shifting your teeth over time - and similar to braces - that movement can create pressure at times.

Most patients describe it as “tight” or "sore" rather than painful. You’ll usually notice it most when switching to a new aligner and it tends to improve over a couple of days of starting the new one!

Keep in mind, everyone feels things differently -some may barely notice while others could feel mild soreness for a day or two - and both are completely normal.

The good news? It’s temporary AND it’s a sign your treatment is working.

Also remember, you’re never in this alone. If something feels off or if you just need reassurance and to talk through it, call or text us. We’re here every step of the way 🤍
