One of the merits of full contour zirconia restorations and prosthetics is it is structurally solid.
Dental zirconia is actually Zirconium Oxide stabilized with Yttrium Oxide. It has amazing properties. One particularly useful in dentistry is structural strength and surface toughness for brutal forces of chewing.
That particular property manifests itself after zirconia has been sintered (“cooked”) in the oven to 1700*C.
At that temperature zirconia restorations achieve their final properties.
Besides aforementioned Zirconia is easy to polish and hard to chip if thickness is within normal limits.

🦷Stone cutting instruments⛏
Although recent technology is replacing conventional “physical impression-stone model-prosthetic” to “digital impressions-printed models-prosthetic”, stone models still considered most accurate replica of the patients mouth.
While working with stone models, it is of absolute importance to have sharp instruments for cutting and grinding. Dull instruments not only less effective but those end up damaging the important parts of the stone models such as crown margins. Moreover, dull instruments may cause injury to the technician.
