If a tooth is damaged or infected, you may immediately assume, “Well, that's coming out!” 😬

But not so fast…

In some cases, root canal therapy can save the natural tooth by removing the damaged or infected tissue inside it and allowing the tooth to remain in place. 🙌

An extraction may be recommended when a tooth is too damaged or compromised to be predictably restored.

The important part? You won't know your best option until the tooth is properly evaluated.

Whenever possible, preserving your natural tooth can be an important goal of treatment. So before jumping to conclusions, let your dentist take a look. 😉
