A Little About Dr. Lauren Vaughn 🤍

Hi! I’m Dr. Lauren Vaughn, and I’m so thankful and humbled to introduce myself as the new owner of Southern Dental Group. It truly means so much to me to have the opportunity to care for the wonderful patients and families who have trusted this practice for so many years.

I’ve been practicing dentistry for over 10 years and have been blessed to practice here in Somerset for nearly five years as the owner of Rise & Smile Family Dentistry & Aesthetics.

I genuinely love dentistry, but smile makeovers have always been my favorite. There’s nothing better than watching someone see their new smile and getting to be a small part of giving them that confidence back. 🤍

I’m a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and continue my education through the Dawson Academy. I’ve also completed a pediatric mini-residency in Florida, a TMD mini-residency at the University of Kentucky, and additional training in oral surgery and implants through the University of Michigan. I truly believe you can never stop learning, especially when patients are trusting you with their care.

Outside of dentistry, my favorite roles are being a wife and mama. My husband, Andrew, is an ENT surgeon, and we have two kiddos, Evie and Rowan, who keep life busy, fun, and very humbling. 😂 Our faith, church, family, and serving others through mission work are a big part of our lives.

When I’m not in the office, I love traveling with my family, cooking, reading, cheering on the Tennessee Titans, and, of course, anything pink and sparkly. ✨

I know Southern Dental Group has been a special place in this community for many years, and I don’t take the responsibility of carrying that forward lightly. I’m thankful to Dr. Pope and the entire Southern Dental Group team for trusting me with this next chapter.

I’m excited to meet each of you, learn your stories, and hopefully earn your trust for many years to come. 🤍

Dear Lake Cumberland friends,

Y’all did this.

Because of your incredible support, Rise & Smile Family Dentistry has officially outgrown our space, so we’re moving just 0.2 miles down the road into a larger office. Don’t worry, we’re still close enough that if you accidentally pull into the old parking lot, we’ll probably wave you in the right direction.

This move isn’t about becoming bigger. It’s about creating more space so we can continue caring for the community that has been so good to us.

I’m also incredibly honored that Dr. Pope has trusted me with the care of his patients. A few years ago, Dr. Tawnya Muse gave me the opportunity to continue the legacy she built, and now Dr. Pope has done the same. I often wonder how I got lucky enough to follow two dentists who have meant so much to this community. Those are some big shoes to fill.

I’m also grateful to have Dr. Adrienne Childress working alongside me full-time. She shares the same heart for patient care and commitment to treating every patient with kindness, compassion, and excellence. Together, we’re excited to continue serving Lake Cumberland for many years to come.

I promise to show up every day, work hard, keep learning, and care for every patient as if they were family.

And before Facebook starts writing its own story, don’t worry. Dr. Muse and Dr. Pope are both still seeing patients part-time. They’re not going anywhere and making sure I behave! They’re simply helping with the transition while Dr. Childress and I continue serving our community full-time.

We’re also excited to now accept most PPO insurance plans, making it even easier for you and your family to receive the care you deserve.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are joining us from Southern Dental Group, thank you for trusting us. Every referral, every kind word, and every appointment has helped make this dream possible.

Thank you, Lake Cumberland, for believing in this Kentucky girl. I will never take that trust for granted, and I promise we’ll keep giving you something to smile about. Feel free to reach out for any questions! Happy Fourth of July!
