Stop Early Tooth Decay:

Decay is the most contagious bacterial infection in the world caused by Streptococcus mutans.
Decay treatment now has a paint on procedure which stops early decay. The therapy takes three to five minutes, does not require a shot, has no drilling, and works for adults, teens, and children. Any decayed tooth with no cavitation, called early lesions, can benefit from treatment.
“We keep as much of your healthy tooth as long as we can with the paint on minimally invasive treatment” Dr. Hudson says. Patients with partials that have rubbed the roots of the teeth, or braces brackets that are hard to keep clean can use this technique. “Treat early and easy” she says.
We see great results with this solution and have adults who still benefit from treatments done twenty years ago.

This patient's old silver filling was leaking causing decay to spread underneath. We replaced the silver and excavated all decay. Doing this is going to protect the tooth from needing a root canal down the road!
