🦷 Understanding TMJ Disorders 🦷 Did you know there are five common types of TMJ disorders? Here's a quick breakdown:

1️⃣ Myofascial Pain: Discomfort or pain in the muscles that control jaw movement, often caused by stress, teeth grinding, or poor posture. 2️⃣ Internal Derangement of the Joint: A displaced or damaged cartilage disc that leads to clicking, popping, or locking of the jaw. 3️⃣ Arthritis: Conditions like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis can cause inflammation, pain, and stiffness in the jaw joint. 4️⃣ Bruxism (Teeth Grinding): Chronic grinding or clenching of teeth can strain the TMJ and surrounding muscles. 5️⃣ Trauma or Injury: Physical injuries to the jaw can result in acute or chronic TMJ disorders.

💡 If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, contact our office today. Let Dr. Chaiken guide you on the path to a pain-free life!
