We are back to seeing patients again and are looking forward to helping you!

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the CDC, and OSHA. We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

• We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.

• You will be asked to remain in your car until called in to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 605-334-7979.

THANK YOU for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and have enjoyed welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.

To our valued patients and friends, in anticipation of a surge of the COVID-19 diagnosis we have made the very difficult and sensitive decision that effective today (Wednesday March 18th 2020) Marshall T Lavin, DDS will limit the scope of our practice for the next 3 weeks. This is a public health concern that affects our patients, our team, their families and our community. We are in solidarity with the CDC’s efforts to “flatten the curve” and are willing to do all we can to be part of the solution. We firmly believe that this decision is the best way to do our part to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 while keeping you and our team safe. If this affects your appointment, you will be notified. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out by calling our office (605) 334-7979 or your general dentist.

Most root canal therapies may be completed in one or two appointments, but restoring the tooth after root canal therapy may be necessary to ensure that the tooth functions properly. The appointments necessary to completely restore the tooth should not be considered part of the root canal process.
