For your advance planning, our next quarterly meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 17, 5:30pm at the Sioux City Country Club. We're hoping to make an announcement at that meeting that we've reached the $500,000 milestone of donations to local nonprofit organizations! If you haven't already sent in your donation for the Boys & Girls Club, please do it soon. Check for a recent email with details on how to make your donation.

Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting of “100+ Men & Women Who Care” Tuesday night at Oscar Carl Vineyard. Thanks to Melanie and Roy Olsen for hosting us and providing some great appetizers and desserts.
We were happy to have Rachelle Rawson from our previous beneficiary, Agape Community Services, on hand to receive the ceremonial “big check” in recognition of the $13,300 donation our group made to them. Now, on to the business from Tuesday night—three worthy nonprofits were nominated: Boys & Girls Club, Siouxland Foster Closet and Keeping It Wild Wildlife Rescue. And the winner was Boys & Girls Club!

Our next quarterly meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 4, 5:30-7pm at Oscar Carl Vineyard, 1473 Buchanan Ave. They will be providing some appetizers for us, plus their bar will be open for your purchases, with a wide variety of their wonderful wines, several beer options, as well as spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. (BTW, their wine slushies are great!) So, please mark your calendars and plan to join us…maybe even invite a potential new member to see what we’re all about! (Potential members can attend a meeting without having to commit to making a donation)

As for our current collection of donations for Agape Community Services, we’re up to $13,200! A representative of Agape will attend our August 4 meeting to receive the ceremonial “big check” and tell us how they are using our donations. If you haven’t yet made your donation, here’s a reminder about two ways you could do that:

Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting of “100+ Men & Women Who Care” Tuesday night at the new Jackson Street Brewing East. We had a record-breaking crowd in attendance, with 54 members (including 2 new members!) and 5 guests as potential new members. Thanks to Dave Winslow and his crew for hosting us and providing some great chips, salsa and guacamole, plus thanks to our board members who provided other snack items.

We were happy to have Lyn Kluender from our previous beneficiary, Siouxland Soup Kitchen, on hand to receive the ceremonial “big check” in recognition of the $13,450 donation our group made to them. (Photo attached) Lyn shared with us information about what the Soup Kitchen, does including her mention that our donation came just in time as they had an almost $10,000 expense to replace one of their large commercial refrigerators. Attending with Lyn were some members of her Board of Directors, included in the attached photo.

Now, on to the business from Tuesday night—three worthy nonprofits were nominated: Choose Love in the Schools, Cosmopolitan Club and Agape Community Services. And the winner was Agape Community Services!

Thanks to everyone who attended another great meeting of “100+ Men & Women Who Care” Tuesday night at the newly remodeled Two Rivers Golf Club clubhouse. Thanks to the folks at Two Rivers for hosting us, with appetizers from Amy Daniels of Cooking SUX.

We were happy to have Jacob Wanderscheid from our previous beneficiary, Food Bank of Siouxland, on hand to receive the ceremonial “big check” in recognition of the $13,910 donation our group made to them. Jacob shared with us information about how the Food Bank works with many food pantries in the area.

Now, on to the business from Tuesday night—three worthy nonprofits were nominated: Youth for Christ, Siouxland Soup Kitchen and Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA. And the winner was Siouxland Soup Kitchen!
