The ancient Egyptians and Romans understood that teeth could move under consistent pressure. There was some advancement in the 1700s and 1800s, but modern orthodontics didn’t appear until the early 1900s.
Historically, orthodontics was about straightening teeth for aesthetic reasons. Straight teeth are symmetrical, and body symmetry is a sign of overall health and genetic quality. Eventually, functionality was also considered a benefit of straight teeth. More recently, proper occlusion (tooth alignment) was found to indicate critical factors like proper airway and oxygenation. Orthodontics, therefore, is so much more than straight teeth. It’s about optimizing health and wellness.

🦷😂 Let’s Talk About Our AMAZING Office Manager MaKayla! 😂🦷

Every dental office needs someone who can run the show, keep everyone in line, answer 47 questions at once, solve problems before anyone even knows there’s a problem, AND somehow still smile! 😜

That someone is OUR AWESOME OFFICE MANAGER MAKAYLA! 👑

She keeps the schedules moving, the team organized, the patients happy, and the chaos mostly under control. 😉 From insurance questions to “Where did I put that?” moments, she’s basically our office Google, therapist, referee, and superhero—all rolled into one! 🦸‍♀️

We honestly don’t know what we’d do without her… probably stand around wondering who’s supposed to do what! 😂

Thank you for keeping us laughing, working, organized, and occasionally out of trouble. We appreciate you more than a day without a broken crown! 🦷🤣

❤️ You’re the glue that holds our dental family together!

Aug 30th is National Beach Day! Have you been to the beach this summer? Spending time near water is a popular getaway for many families. Do you have any special memories of the beach? Did you pick up shells and sea glass? See any interesting wildlife? National Beach Day is a great reminder that wellness can happen outside the office, too! Whether you’re walking along the shoreline, playing in the sand, swimming, or simply listening to the waves, time outdoors gives us an opportunity to move, breathe, relax, and reconnect. Take a break, enjoy the sunshine, and make some healthy memories at the beach!

Losing baby teeth can be a confusing time for children, but receiving some money from the tooth fairy always makes the situation okay. How much did you receive from the tooth fairy? How much money is the tooth fairy leaving for kids today?”
