During her fourth year in dental school, Dr. Esber was selected as one of two dental students to serve as the “team dentists” for The Ohio State University’s athletic department. This mostly looked like lots of late nights making thousands of mouth guards, but she also learned a lot about facial trauma as well…including just how important those mouth guards are on the field!!! Go Bucks! 🏈

Do you brush your teeth before or after breakfast? 🤔
Drop your answer in the comments!

🦷 The dentist-recommended answer: BEFORE breakfast!

Overnight, bacteria builds up in your mouth while you sleep. Brushing first thing in the morning removes that bacteria and coats your teeth with fluoride to help protect them from the acids in food and drinks.

If you prefer brushing after breakfast, try to wait about 30 minutes, especially if you had coffee, juice, or fruit. This helps protect your enamel.

A big congratulations to Pat B. for winning our Guess How Many Flossers Are in the Jar contest! 🏆

And here’s the fun part… Pat is actually a retired hygienist- so it’s safe to say she really knows her floss! 😄

Thank you to everyone who participated and gave it their best guess. Stay tuned for more fun contests and chances to win!
