So, I guess if you want to be popular in the dental world you gotta be a "digital creator", and also be a bit of a narcissist these days. Yuck. 🙄 You know what, I'm about integrity and real clinical results, not the unbalanced focus these days on "self". So im kind of old fashioned I guess. 🤷‍♀️
But im gonna stick to it because you know know what? Truth and humility prevails. People figure out who you are over time. And yes, social media awareness is coming from me with the new endoscope, but it won't be about me. It will be about you, the patient and the professional. That is all. 🥰

So fun! I had an important colleague shadow me last week. We are planning some really exciting things for post grad education, the community, and the dental hygiene students in the new Dental Hygiene program at Peninsula College. 😁

Good morning, Judy,

A huge THANK YOU for allowing me to observe you in action and discuss the benefits of the use of the perioscope in optimizing dental hygiene care. I’m convinced that students’ education while in our program will be enhanced from exposure to this technology and I’m working hard to find funding for at least one for our clinic.

I’m also very excited to discuss the prospect of how our SimLab and Clinic spaces might be used for post grad continuing education programs.

Exciting info on the new dental endoscope! 😁

Still in certification and coming soon to the market. I got to see the high res imaging of a 10mm pocket, so much clearer than ANY other unit available. No sheath, no water drowning the patient (and taking forever to see the base of the pocket due to lousy designs), no $100 sheaths, and only one explorer for the entire dentition. ONE, not FOUR, which means MUCH faster procedures and diagnostics and less wear and tear on the fiber. Better visualization, less time, and no distortion of the image with water or that annoying "halo" the current unit has. Foot control capture/record, yes! So much SMALLER and very portable! Much higher level of tech here at a much lower cost to buy and use than anything currently available. Game changer for the profession.

Be patient, it will be worth it! did I say "much" too much? LOL 😂 I hope you get the point. ☺️

I take my "job" very serious as the Director of my patients oral-systemic health. Anything less is unacceptable. I will be lecturing about all things definitive perio therapy on April 18th at the WDHA Symposium. 😊

Many people think gum disease only affects the mouth — but its impact can extend throughout the body.

Periodontal (gum) disease is more than bleeding gums or loose teeth.
It is a chronic inflammatory infection that allows oral bacteria and inflammatory mediators to enter the bloodstream, influencing multiple organ systems.

Scientific research has linked untreated periodontal disease with:

🔹 Cardiovascular disease – increased risk due to chronic inflammation

🔹Diabetes – a bidirectional relationship affecting blood sugar control

🔹Respiratory diseases – aspiration of harmful oral bacteria

🔹Rheumatic conditions – inflammation-related joint involvement

🔹Neurodegenerative disorders – including associations with Alzheimer’s disease

The mouth is not separate from the body.
It is a gateway to systemic health.

Often I will treat "hopeless" teeth and splint them as 'place holders' as a first phase treatment approach. But often they become stable and do not require further treatment. This is before RPE on the right, and 2yrs after on the left. His hygienist sent this to me.
I believe that if hygienists could perform regenerative periodontal endoscopy as initial phase therapy we would see less extractions overall. Many patients just want to keep their own teeth. Let me show you how. 😁

From a patient coming to see me in a couple of weeks:

Also for your holistic approach. I also fed it my whole exam notes and exrays and labs etc... And it said that my specific condition was very likely treatable with the only questionable tooth being 31. But that it wasnt hopeless. Anyway thought you may like to know that one of the most powerful AI picked you out of a world wide line up... I think the fact I found you was simply divine intervention. (my periodontist said to me, "only the lord almighty can cure your gum disease", so maybe you are the life boat he sent)".
