We will resume practicing on Monday , May 11th , and there will be a new normal . We are doing everything necessary for the safety of our patients and staff . After any treatment all surfaces are disinfected . We are asking for family members to wait in the car as we are no longer using the waiting room since it can’t be sufficiently disinfected . You can bring reading material , we no longer have any in the office . Things will be a little different , this will slow us down and we will schedule accordingly . We look forward to attending to your dental needs and to seeing our patients again .

- upon arrival we ask that you remain in your car until we come and get you.

- we will ask you some screening questions and take your temperature.

- we will walk you directly to the treatment room and provide you with hand sanitizer and mouthwash.

We will resume practicing on May 11. As always we will use all necessary protocol to ensure your safety and ours. There will be a new normal as waiting rooms are now off limits. We have a long history in our profession of effective infection control to prevent the transmission of viruses. We look forward to again seeing our patients and taking care of their needs.

**UPDATE**:As per the directive of state authorities we are closing the office for regular dental treatment effective immediately. The Alabama Department of Public Health, the Alabama Dental Association, the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama, the American Dental Association, and the UAB School of Dentistry, feel it is necessary to control the spread of coronavirus. At this point we hope to reopen April 10th, but that is subject to change. We will update this post when we are given information that we can safely treat patients. In the meantime, we hope everyone remains healthy and safe.

TO OUR PATIENTS:
COVID-19 (coronavirus) is a serious situation and we want to update you on what we are doing in the best interest of our patients. In dentistry we have used protocols to prevent the spread of disease for more than 35 years. Instruments are sterilized and surfaces are wiped down with disenfectants after each patient. We have stopped the transmission of diseases that are much harder to kill and transmitted much easier than coronavirus. So in our treatment areas we are already preventing the spread of COVID-19. With the coronavirus we are more concerned with "social distancing." WE ARE ASKING OUR PATIENTS:
-only the patient come inside the office or just the patient and their parent/guardian. I know this is difficult to arrange for some families, but our main concern is for the health and well being of our patients.
-if you or someone in your family has a fever, please call and reschedule your appointment.
-bring something to read if you would like, we have removed all magazines from the waiting area. we also are no longer using a sign-in sheet.
We continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation and follow the recommendations of our local, state, and federal authorities; as well as the ADA, CDC, and WHO.
Please stay safe and healthy and follow the recommendations on "social distancing" and proper hand washing.
