Summer is here and so are the snack cravings! ☀️

If you or your child has braces, snack time doesn't have to mean giving up your favorites, it just means choosing options that are a little kinder to brackets and wires.

Here are a few of my go-to summer snack ideas that are:

One of the questions I hear most often from parents is:

"Is this something they'll grow out of?"

When it comes to speech development, the answer isn't always simple.

Many speech differences are a normal part of growing up. But sometimes, things like persistent lisping, mouth breathing, difficulty pronouncing certain sounds, or frequently being asked to repeat themselves can be clues that something else is going on.

What many parents don't realize is that teeth, jaws, and tongue posture all work together to help children speak clearly.

If the bite isn't developing properly, the tongue doesn't have enough room, or the jaws aren't aligned as they should be, it can sometimes affect the way certain sounds are formed.

That doesn't mean every child with a speech concern needs orthodontic treatment.

It simply means it's worth paying attention.

One of the reasons the American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7 is because we can identify growth and development concerns early, even before braces are needed.

And if your child isn't ready for treatment, that's okay. We offer complimentary growth monitoring so we can keep an eye on things together.

Most people walk through my Sebring office and see the quilts hanging on the walls, or they've seen them in the background of our reels and photos, but what you may not know is that these quilts were made by my mom.

She was an incredible quilter, and here's what she said in 2018:

"My son in Florida is an orthodontist, he has all of his offices decorated with my quilts. That's how he decorates his offices." 🥹

She was right.

I've always loved having her work in our offices because it reminds me where I came from, the importance of family, and the value of doing things the right way.

Those quilts aren't just artwork to me. They're a piece of home ❤

Every age deserves to feel confident in their smile. 💙

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that orthodontics is "just for kids."

The truth is, it's never too late to invest in yourself.

Whether you're 8, 18, 48, or 78, feeling comfortable when you smile, laugh, and speak matters.

And if you're wondering, yes... our adult patients get just as excited about their smile transformations as the kids do 😄

I've had the privilege of treating patients at every stage of life, and one thing always stays the same:

Everyone deserves to feel confident when they smile.

Every age.
Every stage.
Every smile.

Pull up a chair. You're family here.

For more than 30 years serving families throughout our Tri-County community, I've tried to keep that simple idea at the heart of everything we do.

I've always wanted our practice to feel different.

Not rushed.
Not intimidating.
Not like a place where you're just another appointment on the schedule.

I want it to feel comfortable.

A place where patients can ask questions. Where parents feel informed. Where families know they're being cared for by people who genuinely care about them.

A place where you walk through our doors as a stranger, but leave feeling like family.

Because orthodontics has never been just about straight teeth.

It's about people.
It's about relationships.
It's about earning your trust and doing things right every step of the way.

That's what mattered to me when I opened my practice over 30 years ago, and it's what matters to me today.
