Summer has arrived!

We just want to provide an update about COVID precautions and policies in our office. Following the recommendations of King County Public Health, the Washington State Dept. of Health and the CDC, we encourage everyone to keep up-to-date with recommended COVID vaccines. We remain vigilant to prevent exposure and transmission of COVID-19 and other illnesses through facility cleanliness, improved ventilation with HEPA filtration units in our operatories and waiting room, and good hygiene practices among our staff.

We are asking you, our valued patients and families, to self-assess and assess your children for possible COVID like symptoms, (not limited to but including headache, cough, fever, runny nose and congestion, gastrointestinal symptoms, loss of taste and smell) and/or a known close contact exposure or a positive COVID test in the last 14 days. In these instances, we are asking you to re-schedule appointments as needed to reduce transmission of any of the illnesses that are out there!

We have hand sanitizer for your use, but are no longer requiring masks for patients and families while in our office. Our clinical staff will continue wearing masks and we follow the guidelines for universal infection control as we always have. If you are concerned about your own possible exposures, please wear a well fitting mask while in our office. We want you to be comfortable here! You can voice your concerns and we will continue to re-evaluate our policies.

Have you met Dr. Misa Yoshioka yet? She is a full fledged board certified pediatric dentist and is working Mondays and Fridays in the office. Dr. Camille Sata will now work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays and enjoy sharing call with Dr. Yoshioka every other weekend!

Keep an eye out for our dental assistant, Amaris. She is featured in a Metro transportation ad. We have seen her on TV, the side of buses and a big billboard. It gives us such joy to see her outside of the office. I spy, with my little eye- Dr Sata's dental assistant!

We are looking forward to seeing you for your child's dental care. If you live or are willing to travel to the Seattle Greenlake area, we are happily accepting new patients!

Spring is in the air!

We would like to let you know that Dr. Misa Yoshioka has joined our practice. She grew up in the Seattle area, and attended the University of Washington. Graduating at the top of her class, Dr. Yoshioka completed dental school at Western University of Health Sciences in California, and moved to Columbus, Ohio for a two year pediatric dental residency and Master of Science degree at the Ohio State University in partnership with Nationwide Childrens Hospital. Dr. Yoshioka returned to Seattle to practice with the person who inspired her to become a pediatric dentist, when she was only in second grade. Dr. Sata is Dr. Misa's aunt!

As the COVID-19 incidence is decreasing and the restrictions to protect from it are loosening, we want you to know we remain vigilant in our plans to protect our employees and our patients and their families. Healthcare facilities require that we require that masks be worn in our office. Our entire pediatric population is not yet eligible for vaccination, so we will continue masking up and physically separating family groups from each other.

Washington's re-opening is wonderful news after this long pandemic recovery. We want you to know we remain vigilant in our plans to protect our employees and our patients and their families. You might not need a dentist when those loose teeth start coming out, but we wanted to let you know that we are going to start seeing patients for non emergent dental care on Tuesday, May 19th. The health and safety of our patients, families and staff has guided the changes you will see in our office. The quality of the photo might not be great-but the words ring true. Our office is in a holding pattern right now-we are awaiting confirmation from Governor Inslee that dental offices can open and what the specific criteria will be to keep you and your families safe and informed and to protect our staff during this time.
If you currently have an appointment with Dr. Sata, our office will be reaching out to you to confirm or re-schedule as needed. As always, rest assured that Dr. Sata continues to be available for emergent or urgent dental care. Dr. Sata decided to close the office for two weeks beginning March 16, 2020 to help the community effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19. As we began rescheduling and notifying our patients with appointments during this period, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommended that elective dental procedures be delayed at this time.
Dr Sata has been evaluating the necessity of treatment and has been re-scheduling accordingly. She will continue to be available for dental emergencies for her patients. As usual, you may reach her by calling our office number 206-522-1565, and you will receive instructions on how to reach her.
Our dental office always maintains practices to protect our patients and their families, as well as our employees. We have been diligently been doing extra cleaning and have done so since the outbreak of the Covid-19.
We will re-evaluate the specific anticipated re-opening of the office, and Dr. Sata will reach out to those patients that she feels should be treated while the office is closed.
Some of our staff will continue to answer phone calls and respond to messages. Please be patient as we try to return calls in a timely manner. We wish you health and calm during this difficult time. Take care!
