These two just joined a very exclusive club. 🏅 Earlier this month, Drs. Chen and Koh ran their first full marathon at the Vancouver International Marathon — and if you know, you KNOW.
Mile 20. The wall is real. 😵
Your legs stop cooperating. Your brain starts negotiating. Every part of you is asking why did I sign up for this.
As someone who hit that same wall less than a year ago.... I see you! I felt that. 🫠
But they kept going. Because that's who they are.
And then they came back to Laurelhurst and Magnolia and took care of our patients with some soreness but as if nothing happened.

1% of the world has ever finished a marathon. Our dentists are in that 1%. When's the next one?!?!🤓
We don't build average teams here. 🦷✨🏃‍♀️

Last night I had the honor of speaking on the Women Who Build Washington panel hosted by Washington Policy Center. The theme was "Women Who are Changing the Game — Right Now" and honestly I left feeling incredibly grateful to have been part of the conversation and learned so much!
We talked about leadership, entrepreneurship, and navigating the economic landscape here in Washington State. Real talk, real stories, real challenges. The kind of night that reminds you why building something from scratch is worth every hard moment.
Thank you to Washington Policy Center for putting this together and to Gallagher for sponsoring such an important discussion. And to our host and moderator Lorrie Baldevia — thank you not just for keeping us on track, sharing your passion and dropping this gem: give PIE to the people around you. Profession, Image, Exposure.
I was also able to connect with Amy Burns of Anthony's Restaurants and Ainsley Close Close of Guardian Security before the event even started and I am so glad I did. Getting to know them as people before we got on stage together made the whole conversation feel that much more real.
And to everyone who came out to support — that's my favorite part 🫶 Floss Boss Mobile exists because I believed healthcare could look different. More accessible, more human, and yes, more on wheels 🚌 Nights like this remind me that sharing the journey actually matters.

🦷 Last Saturday, Floss Boss Mobile and University District Street Medicine brought care directly to the young adults of ROOTS Young Adult Shelter — Washington state's largest overnight shelter for people aged 18–25.
Roots operates in Seattle's University District, serving up to 45 guests a night from 8pm to 8am. For many of these young adults, access to dental or medical care isn't a given. That's exactly why days like Saturday matter.
We showed up with an incredible team of 16 volunteers — 10 UW dental students, 2 UW dental faculty Dr's Fok and Chianglin, UW medical school faculty Dr. Srirama Josyula along with 4 medical students who provided foot care and addressed broader health concerns. Together, we spent a full 6-hour day delivering a truly holistic care experience.
In total, Floss Boss Mobile, UW School of Dentistry, and Roots collaborated to provide over $13,000 in dental treatment — alongside oral health education and whole-body care that connected the dots between mouth and overall wellness.
What made this day especially meaningful: our team members Dieu-Ly Tran, Mariela Hernandez, and Devi Bharani organized the day while Dr. Fok and I mentored dental students on patient care and real-world time management — the kind of training you can't get in a classroom.
This is what community-centered care looks like. Thank you to every volunteer, every partner, and every person who trusted us with their care. 💙

Happy National Dentist’s Day! I am so incredibly proud to work alongside such dedicated colleagues. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our Laurelhurst and Magnolia patients and for being the heart of this practice.
​It’s rare to find a team so perfectly aligned in vision and philosophy. I love that we can learn together, grow together, and build both physical and mental health as a team. I’m so lucky our communication is almost always in sync—it makes providing the best patient care so much easier!
​A special thank you to Dr. Yae, Clinical Assistant Professor in Restorative Dentistry at the UW School of Dentistry, for giving us such an insightful restorative lecture. We truly appreciate you sharing your "pearls" in private practice from your many years of experience!

Growing up too fast — literally! I love my Wednesday afternoons because I get to see all my teens who I first met as one-year-old patients. Time truly flies, and they’ve grown up right in my office. This is why I love what I do — caring for families as they grow with me. Feeling so grateful! And they are never too old for the toy tower!

Starting 2026 with purpose!

Floss Boss Mobile has partnered with Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health, an inpatient mental health hospital, and the experience has been nothing short of rewarding for our entire team.
Leading up to our first pilot date, we held numerous meetings with OHBH to ensure our team was prepared: following hospital protocols, understanding safety codes, and being ready for whatever comes our way, both clinically and personally.
One thing that has made this partnership so special is how supported our team feels. The guards, nurses, and directors at OHBH come on board with each patient, ensuring the safety of our staff at every step. We feel safe, heard, and taken care of, and that level of collaboration allows us to focus on what we do best: delivering exceptional dental care.
Working with formerly incarcerated patients has taught us so much. Not every patient is the same. Some resist treatment entirely. Others walk into our clinic skeptical but slowly learn to trust us, allowing us to bring their oral health to a maintenance level. And then there are the patients who experience a true transformation, teeth that once caused embarrassment because they had turned black are now a source of joy and gratitude. Those are the moments that keep us coming back.
We've performed fillings, extractions, and deep cleanings for many of our patients. Some have returned multiple times to continue restoring their oral health to a stable baseline. The goal for every patient is the same: establish regular dental care with continuity and consistency, eliminate infection, and treat acute symptoms so they can move forward with confidence.
This partnership has been a win for the patients, a win for OHBH, and a win for Floss Boss Mobile. We're proud of the care we're delivering and the lives we're impacting 🩵

🎄✨ Delivering the holiday spirit yesterday on Christmas Day✨🎄
Floss Boss Cares was honored to partner with for their 17th annual community event, supporting our neighbors with 🧦 socks, 🧢 beanies, 🪥 hygiene kits for women and men, 🩹 first-aid kits, 🔥 hand warmers, 💇🏽‍♂️ men’s haircuts, and 🚚 food trucks—all made possible by an incredible group of volunteers on Pioneer Square in the heart of Seattle!
Taking time away from our own holiday celebrations to give back meant so much, especially volunteering alongside my daughter 👩‍👧💞 Seeing so many people give up a few hours of their holiday to serve others was powerful, meaningful, and truly unforgettable ✨
Grateful for community, compassion, and the reminder of what this season is really about 💛🎁
Thank you for always willing to donate toothpaste for our events!
