Dental X-rays (radiographs) are images of your teeth that the dentist uses to evaluate your oral health.

These X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. This can help us identify many teeth and bone related issues.

Dental X-rays may seem complex, but they’re actually very common tools that are just as important as your teeth cleanings.

Dental X-rays are typically performed yearly. They can happen more often if we are tracking the progress of a dental problem or treatment!

Here’s one of our favorite photograph of dental decay and it’s progression towards the nerve. 🦷

It all starts either from the occlusal (chewing) surface or proximal (flossing) area. And it keeps moving towards the core (pulp chamber) eventually causing a lot of pain.

So here’s to regular checkups and radiographs, to bi annual cleanings and exams. And keeping it healthy and happy ! 🤗💯
