Marcia Harrer Sobek DDS

Marcia Harrer Sobek DDS A visit with Marcia Harrer Sobek, DDS feels like anything but a visit to the dentist.

Visiting her office is more like catching up with an old friend in their living room. Dr. Harrer Sobek’s patients have an unprecedented level of comfort in her office, due in large part to the lengths at which Dr. Harrer Sobek gets to know each individual patient. Born in Chicago, IL, Dr. Marcia Harrer Sobek moved to Scottsdale, AZ at the young age of seven. Her childhood dream, inspired by her ch

ildhood dentist, was to follow in his footsteps and become a well-regarded dentist in the community. She attended Scottsdale High School, received her undergraduate degree at The University of Arizona, and attended dental school at the University of California, San Francisco. She then completed a residency in hospital dentistry at Northwestern University in Chicago. With her dental course-work completed, she was happy to move back to Arizona and establish herself in private practice. Not surprisingly, Dr. Harrer Sobek focuses on family dentistry and can accommodate people of all ages and needs. Her office provides everything from the routine preventive services, cleanings and examinations, to complete cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Harrer Sobek and her husband, David, are the parents of Madeline and Grant. When time permits, she pursues her love of music; Dr. Harrer Sobek plays the flute professionally. Her professional affiliations include being a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona State Dental Association and its component societies, the Scottsdale-Paradise Valley Study Club, the Junior League of Phoenix, and National Charity League.

Ever wonder why sipping ice water can make your tooth zing? That sensation doesn’t come from the outside of the tooth itself, but from what’s happening deep inside. Tiny channels within the tooth, called dentin tubules, transmit changes that activate nerves, turning temperature shifts into sharp discomfort. It’s a microscopic process with a very noticeable reaction. If you're experiencing this kind of sensitivity, call +1 480-661-0481 to schedule a checkup.

Did you know? When enamel is worn or gums have receded, cold air can easily reach the inner layers of your teeth, triggering sensitivity. Habits like breathing through your mouth and spending time in dry, heated spaces may also reduce saliva flow. Staying hydrated and using toothpaste designed for sensitivity can help keep your smile comfortable no matter the temperature. For more information, call +1 480-661-0481.
