So now I am back in Phoenix. What a great trip. If you ever get the chance to visit Australia, DO IT! It is a beautiful place with friendly and welcoming people who always want to know about you and the USA. Truly a remarkable trip. And I got share it with my singing and orchestra friends from ProMusica! Thank you Patti Graetz, ProMusica Artistic Director, for the dream of an Australian Adventure and for allowing me to share in its realization.

Evidently my last Australia post from Wednesday didn't make it here so let's just try again:

Today was our last day in Sydney. We started by going to a suburb called Manly, a beach town on the ocean known for its beautiful beach and popular with surfers. And there were a lot of them for late fall on a Wednesday. We got to shop for souvenirs and have lunch. Then we took the ferry back to Sydney to tour the spectacular Sydney Opera House. We were allowed to photograph the interior of the concert hall which seats 2700. Indescribably beautiful. We also toured the actual opera theater but no photos. While sitting in the concert hall, our tour guide asked if we sing and requested us to sing. We did! Now I can say I have sung at the Sydney Opera House with ProMusica! Our day ended with a farewell dinner on the 82nd floor of Sydney's tallest building, the Sky Tower. Tomorrow we fly back to Phoenix. All in all a great and memorable time in Australia with ProMusica.

Made it to Sydney last night and today we took a harbor cruise. Here's the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge (think first place to celebrate New Year's Eve in the world).

Yesterday (Thursday) in Australia(yeah, I know; the time difference is confusing to me, too), we went in search of wild kangaroos. We hoped we might see one or two, but we were surprised by a WHOLE LOT of them!

Day 6 was an all-day sightseeing tour of the Great Ocean Road that took us to the Twelve Apostles limestone formations along the coast. Spectacular doesn't even begin to describe the beauty. We also visited Loch Ard Gorge and the Grotto on the coastline. Check back in a few days for more pictures!

Along the way we stopped for lunch and had visitors. Evidently, cockatoos like French fries and crowd around like pigeons in Phoenix when there's food!
