Today we would like to highlight the amazing Shauna. Shauna worked with Dr. Heday as a dental assistant for numerous years while she was an associate. And now she has joined forces to care for our patients at Dynamite Smiles Dentistry.

With 38 years of experience in the dental field, Shauna’s passion for creating healthy, beautiful smiles is stronger than ever. Her journey began as a U.S. Army veteran, where she served as an expanded functions dental hygienist and developed comprehensive skills across all areas of dentistry.

Shauna’s gentle and warm demeanor puts patients to ease better than any medicine available in modern science!

This has been a very difficult post that I have been waiting, dreading, to share for the past 8 months. A part of me waiting for her mother to be ready to share this story.

Kyana was my very talented, beautiful, radiant and inspiring cousin who tragically passed away in Sept 2025. Her love still lives on in my heart and the hearts of everyone she knew. I do wonder what amazing achievements were still waiting for her to reach. She surely did the most while she was with us.

In her honor, a scholarship to help students at Arizona State University has been established. Let’s show our support for all the high achieving young learners by contributing to her scholarship and in hopes that her legacy, just like the ever lasting love in our hearts, lives on.

Today, we want to shine a light on our amazing hygienist, Jen!
Jen, also known as Dr. Thomas, began her career as a dentist after receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious USC School of Dentistry. After having her son, she chose to focus on dental hygiene, where she has dedicated the past 18 years of her career.
Coming from a family of dentists—her father was also a dentist—Jen brings a deep well of knowledge and experience to our team.
