Here are 3 common mistakes you might be making with your manual toothbrush:

Brushing too hard: Scrubbing like you're cleaning a dirty floor can actually wear down your enamel and cause your gums to recede. Let soft bristles and gentle, circular motions do the work!

Keeping the same toothbrush too long: If the bristles are frayed or you’ve had it for more than 3 months (or just got over a cold!), it’s time for a fresh one. Old bristles don't clean effectively and can harbor bacteria.

Brushing back-and-forth instead of at an angle: Sawing straight back and forth misses the gumline where plaque loves to hide. Angle your bristles at 45 degrees toward your gums for the best clean.
