Taking a social media break for an undetermined amount of time. Although I enjoy sharing & checking out what everyone is doing, it is clear the true intent of this platform is to maximize screen time & sales, which conflicts with my current direction. Reach me via text or FB messenger.

Always make sure to document via notes, pre & post-op xrays, etc. Be prepared to fully support your decisions years later. Recoupment of funds is real.
"Sealants followed by any restoration/sealant (Sll). [...] identified submitted claims that did not support the treatment rendered based on the subsequent treatment provided at the following recall appointment. In most instances, preventive code D1351 - sealants were placed 6 months prior to restoring these same teeth. According to the Center for Medicaid and State Operations (CMS) in 42 CFR 440.230, "services must be sufficient in amount, duration and scope to reasonably achieve their purpose." The Dental Director recommends you review this concern and address this concern with all participating providers within your practice."

A word of caution for all the providers out there regarding credentialing. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN AT YOUR OFFICE & ONLY YOUR CLAIMS ARE BEING BILLED VIA YOUR TPI!!! We do not work with fraudsters & neither should you.

Obviously, in a group it will be within the group TPI, but each provider must have their own and claims are billed with that unique information.

Do not blindly trust people with your license. Not everyone knows the rules and some even break them intentionally. Those intentional fraudsters may wind up in jail and broke. Don't let them take you with them.

Work with reputable people you trust, but make sure to verify.

TDA is currently working with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and its Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel. We are encouraging DSHS to vaccinate Dental Health Care Personnel ASAP, because dentists provide essential health care services. The state has based recent vaccine distribution guidelines on protecting COVID-19 frontline health care personnel and vulnerable populations, to preserve vital state health care resources. In our discussions with DSHS, TDA is emphasizing that oral health is integral to overall health, and Texans’ continued access to dental care must be preserved. This includes maintaining a strong dental workforce. TDA will update members as those discussions continue.

In the meantime, we want to remind dentists to continue following the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners’ COVID-19 emergency rule dictating the standards for safe dental practice during the COVID-19 pandemic so that dentists and their teams can continue safely treating patients. (Click here for the rule: https://bit.ly/COVID-Emergency-Rule ) This rule remains in place until Governor Abbott’s COVID-19 disaster declaration is terminated.

In response to the current COVID-19 public health emergency, provider revalidation due dates will be extended 30 calendar days to prevent provider disenrollment. Those who have Provider Enrollment and Provider Administrator accounts can view the Revalidation status via the Provider Information Management System (PIMS).

Providers can refer to the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) Portal Security Provider Training Manual for more information on portal accounts.

Important: Revalidation due dates are being extended to ensure providers remain active and able to provide care for Texas State Health-Care clients. If possible, you are encouraged to continue submitting revalidation applications as early as possible to avoid disenrollment. You can submit your revalidation application up to 90 days before the revalidation due date. Texas Medicaid and the CSHCN Services Program encourage all providers to confirm their current enrollment information in the Provider Information Management System (PIMS) prior to submitting your revalidation application.

Most dental providers have reopened their clinics, but it’s far from business as usual. A new report by the DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement outlines the findings from a recent survey of 2,767 providers, and it’s clear that the COVID-19 pandemic remains a source of stress and u...

Today, the American Dental Association (ADA) released a COVID-19 testing toolkit (http://bit.ly/ADA-COVID-Test-Toolkit). Texas dentists are reminded that it is the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners’ position that dentists are not authorized to perform COVID-19 testing.

The Texas Dental Association (TDA) is studying and monitoring the development of fast, reliable, and affordable point-of-care testing such as the new BinaxNOW™ and will continue active discussions about Texas dentists being able to use point-of-care testing to detect active coronavirus infections. It has been TDA’s position that dentists need a fast point-of-care test that accurately predicts the presence or absence of COVID-19 virus in real time.
